Back to the Classics Challenge at  Sarah Reads Too Much - NOT COMPLETED -(3/9 - if I consider reviews completed and posted. If I take into account the books I completed reading but did not post reviews for, then it is 6/9) -
This one, I thought I will complete. But two things happened, I did not actually complete reading all the books in the categories, and second, I did not complete reviews of books that I did finish reading. So this is a challenge I did not complete at all.
  •  Any 19th Century Classic: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen first published in 1813 - completed reading - yet to review
  • Any 20th Century Classic- The First Men in the Moon by H.G.Wells first published in 1901 :) completed.
  • Reread a classic of your choice: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne - completed reading - yet to review
  • A Classic Play: Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw - completed
  • Classic Mystery/Horror/Crime Fiction: Sherlock Holmes - started reading - did not finish
  • Classic Romance - The Fox by D.H.Lawrence - reading - almost done
  • Read a Classic that has been translated from its original language to your language   - To clarify, if your native language is NOT English, you may read any classic originally written in English that has been translated into your native language.
    • I am choosing - The Little Prince - - reading - almost done
  • Classic Award Winner  - To clarify, the book should be a classic which has won any established literary award.  - Thimble Summer- completed
  • Read a Classic set in a Country that you (realistically speaking) will not visit during your lifetime  - To Clarify, this does not have to be a country that you hope to visit either.  Countries that no longer exist or have never existed count. - What Katy Did - - completed reading - yet to review
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Challenge 2012
NOT COMPLETED - Again, the same comments as for the previous 'Back to Classics Challenge' hold true here.
The books are (in no specific order):
Dracula by Bram Stoker - could not finish reading (not because did not like it but other things came in the way)
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne - - completed reading - yet to review
Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson - - completed reading - yet to review
The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells - did not get to reading
The First Men in the Moon by H.G. Wells - Completed - Jan 26 2012
– Any Fu Manchu novel - The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu -  - did not get to reading
– Any Sherlock Holmes novel - could not finish reading (not because did not like it but other things came in the way)
– Any Allan Quatermain novel - Allan Quatermain -- could not finish reading (not because did not like it but other things came in the way)
– Any James Bond novel- did not get to reading
and
- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen graphic novel to tie it all together. (if you don't have it in your local library Amazon sells affordable issues). -- did not get to reading
2012 e-book Challenge COMPLETED - Need To Link UP YET - For the eBook Challenge, I never got around to linking up, but I must have finished it since many of the books I read and reviewed this year were eBooks, so maybe I should link up and consider this completed :)
25/25
NOT COMPLETED - Sadly, though I started off enthusiastically, and am pretty sure I must have completed many books from the monthly prompts here, I did not check regularly, nor did I complete too many reviews of romances I read (which is a pretty big number)
So, not completed.
